Skye Air Launches AI-Enhanced Drone Delivery Service in Gurugram

Gurugram-based Skye Air has officially commenced doorstep deliveries utilizing drones and artificial intelligence-powered robots, signaling a significant advancement in hyperlocal logistics. This development was announced at the recent AI Impact Summit.

Company Achievements Highlighted

Ankit Kumar, the Founder and CEO of Skye Air Mobility, discussed the company’s achievements in the realm of drone logistics during the summit. He revealed that Skye Air has successfully completed nearly 3.6 million drone deliveries over the past 2.5 years, resulting in a reduction of over one thousand tons of carbon emissions. Kumar emphasized that the company has formed international alliances aimed at enhancing its automated delivery ecosystem.

International Collaborations for Enhanced Efficiency

As part of their expansion strategy, Skye Air has partnered with Arrive AI, a US-based company listed on NASDAQ, to install smart mailbox systems named Arrive Point in residential areas and commercial complexes. This system facilitates automatic delivery of packages by drones.

Kumar also announced a collaboration with another American firm, Autonomy, which has developed an autonomous rover designed to retrieve shipments upon arrival and deliver them directly to customers’ doorsteps. Users will receive an OTP to complete the delivery process seamlessly.

Future Plans Focused on National and Global Expansion

Kumar outlined his vision for the future, indicating that Gurugram will serve as the initial testing ground before the company scales its operations across India and beyond. He highlighted the ambition to expand the service throughout Gurugram and subsequently to other Indian cities, referencing the Prime Minister’s remarks about India’s potential in the AI sector. Kumar noted that the groundwork for these innovations is being laid in Gurugram, with plans for global outreach in the future.

Prime Minister Highlights India’s Technological Advances

Following the conclusion of the AI Impact Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed appreciation for the successful event, emphasizing the global recognition of India’s technological prowess. In a statement on X, Modi remarked on the positive acknowledgment of India’s capabilities at the summit, which showcased the innovative thinking of the nation’s youth in technology.

Broad Consensus Reached on AI Initiatives

The AI Impact Summit 2026, held in New Delhi from February 16 to February 20, culminated in the adoption of the New Delhi Declaration on AI Impact. An official communiqué announced that this declaration received endorsements from 88 countries and international organizations, highlighting a widespread international agreement on the potential for artificial intelligence to drive economic development and social progress.
