Shooting at Bihar’s Ara Railway Station: Girl, Father, and Gunman Dead

A shocking incident at Bihar’s Ara railway station on Tuesday evening resulted in the deaths of three people, including a 16-year-old girl, her father, and the gunman who later took his own life. The shooting occurred on the footbridge connecting platforms 2 and 3. The attacker, identified as Aman Kumar, shot the girl, Jiya Kumari, and her father, Anil Sinha, before turning the gun on himself.

Police Suspect Love Affair Behind Shooting

The police suspect that the motive behind the shooting could be linked to a personal dispute, possibly involving a love affair. Bhojpur Superintendent of Police, Raj, stated that the “love angle cannot be ruled out.” Reports suggest that the girl had come to the station to board a train to Delhi when the attack occurred, raising questions about whether the assailant had targeted her specifically.
Many witnesses reported that the assailant started by shooting both the girl and her father followed by taking his own life. Additional Superintendent of Police Parichay Kumar verified the details of the incident while leading investigations aimed at reconstructing the sequence of events. Forensic experts have arrived at the crime location to retrieve additional evidence.

Investigation Still Ongoing

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) successfully recovered the weapon after which investigators continued their probe. The RPF Senior Commandant Prakash Panda instructed that the installation of more surveillance cameras on the footbridge is necessary to enhance security at the station.
The incident took place during a continuous wave of violent happenings throughout the state which underscores the requirement for better safety precautions. The police investigate the complete details of this attack while seeking evidence about prior knowledge or preplanned aspects related to the incident.
