Second Suspect in Ex-Muslim Youtuber’s Murder Injured in Ghaziabad Encounter

In a development related to the grievous throat-slitting incident involving a Ghaziabad businessman, the second suspect was shot and wounded in a police encounter on Tuesday. The occurrence took place in the Indirapuram area of Ghaziabad district, Uttar Pradesh, where the Crime Branch successfully tracked down the suspect, identified as Gulfam. Authorities reported that he sustained severe injuries during an exchange of gunfire and has since been transported to a hospital for urgent medical treatment.

Details of the Attack

The case revolves around a violent attack that occurred in the early hours of February 27. According to police, two men entered the office of Salim Wastik around 2 AM and fatally assaulted him by slitting his throat. Miraculously, Wastik survived the brutal attack and is currently receiving medical care. Investigators confirmed that both suspects were identified through CCTV footage, as well as from the motorcycle utilized during the commission of the crime. The two individuals involved are reported to be siblings.

First Suspect Neutralized

Prior to this incident, the first suspect, Zeeshan, who was carrying a bounty of Rs 1 lakh, was killed in a police encounter on March 1. Gulfam, the second suspect, also had a reward of Rs 1 lakh on his head. Law enforcement officials located him within the jurisdiction of the Indirapuram police station. During the exchange of fire with the police, Gulfam was shot and incurred critical injuries.

Police Operations

The encounter was executed under the supervision of Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Piyush Singh along with Crime Branch in-charge Inspector Anil Rajput. Officials indicated that the confrontation unfolded when the police intercepted Gulfam in Indirapuram, leading to the gunfire exchange. Following the incident, he was swiftly transferred to a medical facility for treatment. With both suspects neutralized—one deceased and the other hospitalized—law enforcement has stated that further investigations into the case remain ongoing.
