Russian Man Arrested for Stabbing Ex-Wife to Death in Dubai Over Suspected Escort Work

The CSR Journal Magazine

Dubai authorities have detained a Russian man following the brutal stabbing of his ex-wife, a 25-year-old flight attendant, at the Voco Bonnington Hotel. The victim, identified only as Anastasia in Russian media, was found with at least 15 stab wounds covering her neck, torso, and limbs.

The suspect, 41-year-old Albert Morgan, reportedly flew from Russia to the UAE after becoming convinced that Anastasia had worked as an escort during their marriage. Investigators said he gained access to her hotel room by wearing a robe stolen from the laundry and convincing a maid to let him inside.

Morgan, a legal consultant, had initially planned to pour green paint on Anastasia and use scissors to cut her hair. However, when a confrontation broke out inside the room, it escalated, resulting in her stabbing. Hotel staff discovered her body a few hours later, lying in a pool of blood.

Divorce Stalking Leads to Tragedy

The couple had been married for two years. After their separation, Morgan allegedly went through Anastasia’s private messages, which fueled his suspicions. Reports indicate that they had domestic disputes in the past, though Anastasia had withdrawn all complaints against him.

Dubai police used security footage to identify Morgan, and Russian authorities arrested him upon his return to St. Petersburg. While in custody, he reportedly asked to be sent to fight in Ukraine, a tactic some accused criminals in Russia have attempted to avoid jail time. A judge denied this request and ordered him to remain in detention for at least two months while the investigation continues.

Morgan has a prior criminal record, including seven years in prison for drug-related offenses. He also reportedly changed his surname after his release to match that of a well-known US banking family.
