In New Delhi, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat urged the Hindu community in Bangladesh to unite in the wake of rising anti-India sentiments and political changes following Sheikh Hasina’s ousting. He emphasized that approximately 1.25 crore Hindus remain in Bangladesh and proposed that a united front could enable them to leverage the political system for their own safety and benefits.
Bhagwat highlighted the significance of solidarity among Hindus in the region during a recent lecture series titled ‘100 Years Of Sangh Journey – New Horizons’ held in Mumbai. He stated, “If they can unite, they can utilize the political system for their security. Fortunately, they have decided to stay and fight rather than flee. Unity will be essential for this struggle.”
RSS Commitment to Support
The RSS chief assured that the organization would provide support within its capacities for the Hindus residing in Bangladesh. “With the current population of Hindus in Bangladesh, they can enhance their situation significantly. We, from our end and with the help of Hindus worldwide, will do our utmost for them,” Bhagwat remarked on Sunday.
Addressing Illegal Immigration Concerns
In addition to discussing the situation of Hindus in Bangladesh, Bhagwat raised concerns regarding illegal immigration in India. He urged vigilance, suggesting that citizens should notify authorities if they suspect individuals may be foreigners. Advocating for government initiatives to deport illegal immigrants, he noted that this process has gradually started and will intensify over time.
Bhagwat asserted that during census activities, many non-citizens tend to be identified, thereby excluding them from essential social services. He reiterated the position that employment opportunities should be reserved for Indian nationals, encouraging citizens to be more meticulous and informed regarding this issue.
