The CSR Journal Magazine

New allegations regarding enforced disappearances have surfaced from various districts in Balochistan, where numerous individuals are said to have been taken into custody by Pakistani security forces in the past few days. Reports indicate that at least nine people were allegedly detained from diverse areas within the province before going missing. Meanwhile, six others who were previously apprehended have reportedly been released.

Raid in Gwadar’s Jiwani Area

Accounts suggest that on the night of March 10, security personnel conducted a raid in the Panwan locality of Jiwani, located in the Gwadar district. During this operation, Qambar, the son of Imam Baloch, was allegedly taken and has since remained unaccounted for. Family members express concern over the lack of information regarding his whereabouts. Another individual from the region, Zaim, son of Muhammad Raheem, was also reported missing after similar actions were taken against him.

Detentions Reported in Turbat and Panjgur

The following day, Khalid Habib, son of Habibullah, was allegedly apprehended by security forces in the Josak Sari Kahn area of Turbat, situated in the Kech district. Similar claims of disappearances have emerged from the Panjgur district, with reports stating that Jasif, son of Arif, was captured from the Tasp area.

Cases Reported from Quetta and Noshki

In Quetta, Nabi Bakhsh Baloch, son of Behram Baloch, was said to have been taken from his home in the Killi Qambrani neighborhood and moved to an undisclosed destination. Furthermore, in the Noshki district, Mudassir, son of Faizullah, was reportedly detained from the Killi Jamaldini area and remains missing as well.

Several Previously Detained Individuals Released

Alongside these alarming incidents, several individuals who were previously detained have been released in separate events. For instance, Kaleemullah, son of Asadullah from Khudabadan in Panjgur district, was reportedly released at Hub Chowki. Similarly, Zahid, son of Abdul Rehman from Jiwani, was freed on February 26 after an earlier detention. Additionally, two other residents of Jiwani, Adnan and Ahsan, both sons of Dil Murad, were also released.

Families Seek International Attention

In another notable case, Abdul Wahab, son of Abdul Ghani and a resident of Greshag in Khuzdar district, was reportedly released in Lahore after being detained. The families of the individuals who remain missing are urging international human rights organizations to take action in advocating for the safe recovery of their loved ones.
