Rajasthan budget 2026-2027 was presented by Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Diya Kumari on Wednesday. In the budget the focus is on drinking water access in both rural and urban Rajasthan, renewable energy, infrastructure, and youth empowerment. The budget’s major focus is on public services and economic growth of the state.
While presenting the budget, Diya Kumari said that in recent times, there has been a notable expansion in Rajasthan’s economy and this budget will set stage for new investments and initiatives for the welfare of the people.
Rs 6,800 allocated for tap water supply & Rs 2,950 for renewable energy
In order to enhance the tap water connectivity across the state, a budget of Rs 6,800 crore has been allocated. Out of the Rs 6,800 crore, Rs 4,500 crore will be used under the ongoing CM Jal Jeevan Mission, to make tap water connections in villages. On the other hand, Rs 2,300 crore will be invested to enhance the supply of water in cities and towns. Under this initiative, clean drinking water will be accessible to each household in Rajasthan.
To boost the renewable energy sector, Rs 2,950 crore from the budget will be used for development of solar parks in Jaisalmer and Bikaner. This step is taken to position Rajasthan as one of the key leaders in solar energy production. Through this new initiative, employment and green energy will go hand in hand.
What does the budget have for youth?
An interest free loan of Rs 10 lakh will be given to young beneficiaries under CM Self-Employment Scheme. This will help promote entrepreneurship and expand livelihood opportunities. Apart from this there is broad mention of Infrastructure development in the Budget, Rs 1,400 crore has been allotted for non-patchable roads and Rs 600 crore for missing link roads, this will enhance the connectivity across Rajasthan.
During the budget speech Diya Kumari shared that for the year 2026-27, it is estimated that the economy of Rajasthan will reach Rs 21,52,100 crore. It is expected that the per capita income will increase from Rs 1.67 lakh to Rs 2.02 lakh.
Diya Kumari said the state is embracing PM Modi’s core principles of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas.” She said, “To realise the vision of a developed Rajasthan by 2047, our government, under the able leadership of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, has prioritised service, dedication, and good governance, keeping in mind the important role of the poor, youth, farmers, and women in this development journey.”
