PNB MetLife Insurance along with its NGO partner – Child Rights and You (CRY), hosted an interactive chat session ahead of Children’s Day for over 150 children with PV Sindhu, Olympic Medallist and the brand ambassador of PNB MetLife and U. Vimal Kumar, international badminton player, coach and the founder of Prakash Padukone Sports Management.
The fun-filled chat show was moderated by Ashish Kumar Srivastava, MD & CEO of PNB MetLife, who along with being a life insurance leader is also a badminton enthusiast.

Sindhu spoke about her fitness routine, which helped her to get back into form after months of lockdown, while Kumar, encouraged children to improve their game techniques by watching the episodes of JBC Bootcamp, a YouTube channel featuring coaching videos from various badminton experts.

PNB MetLife is committed to the cause of promoting health and fitness by encouraging children to adopt sports early in life. The company has been promoting the message – Health and Happiness go hand in hand and has been driving several CSR initiatives. The chat session with Sindhu was aimed at emphasising the need to prioritise physical and mental health, especially during the pandemic.
Ashish Kumar Srivastava said, “At PNB MetLife, we believe in fostering sustainable communities, and together with our NGO partners, we have connected with close to 1,000 underprivileged children through virtual motivational and skill enhancement sessions during the pandemic. We’re delighted to work with P.V. Sindhu, and U. Vimal Kumar to promote health and fitness and bring joy to kids.”
PV Sindhu noted, “Connecting with all the young athletes and aspirants was an invigorating experience. I was both proud and amazed at their vigour and enthusiasm to learn new things and master their badminton skills. I only wish I could have met them all in person. This year has been challenging for all of us, and especially children who require constant motivation and encouragement, be it sports or studies. I would like to thank PNB MetLife for inviting me on this occasion and appreciate the good work the company is doing.”
U. Vimal Kumar added, “I would recommend the young aspirants to be regular in their practice, even if it is virtual, and improve their game as best as they can. In the absence of physical games, it is important for the children to learn online, but they must be selective in the virtual games they watch. My suggestion is that they must follow tutorials from badminton professionals and the JBC Bootcamp. This will help them in the long run.”
PNB MetLife’s CSR initiative strives to empower underprivileged children and women through various initiatives that include upskilling and maintaining financial and physical wellbeing.
Driven by the global agenda of ‘90 Days of Giving’ campaign, rolled out by MetLife, the promoter company of PNB MetLife, the company initiated an Employee Engagement CSR activity along with its NGO partners – CRY, Nanhi Kali, Drishtee and LittleBigHelp – wherein PNB MetLife employees volunteered to conduct fun-filled and utility-based online sessions with the beneficiaries on various subjects that enhanced their knowledge and enabled them to make the right financial decisions.
PNB MetLife also distributed hygiene kits comprising of masks and sanitizers to the beneficiaries from CRY NGO.
