Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a special interactive session with students from various parts of India during the latest episode of Pariksha Pe Charcha 2026. The event focused on important themes such as examination preparation, personal development, discipline, leadership, and the appropriate use of technology, all significant as the board examination period approaches.
During discussions with students from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, PM Modi expressed joy in their aspirations, remarking, “It is uplifting to see the students of Classes 10 and 12 aspiring for Viksit Bharat 2047.” He highlighted the need for disciplined habits in daily life, citing examples from developed nations. He urged students to be mindful of their actions, noting, “We should switch off engines at red lights, avoid leaving food, and minimize wastage, as discipline holds great importance in our lives.”
PM discusses role of technology in students’ lives
The Prime Minister also addressed the role of technology in students’ lives. He emphasized the need for moderation, warning against allowing smartphones or artificial intelligence to dominate their routines. “It is crucial that we do not let AI or mobile devices become our masters. Some students even skip meals while engrossed in their smartphones. We can harness AI effectively without becoming dependent on it,” he stated.
Reflecting on his longstanding connection with young learners, PM Modi noted, “I have been engaging with students of Classes 10 and 12 for several years through Pariksha Pe Charcha. These conversations serve as a platform for me to learn rather than teach.” In a distinct interaction with students from Raipur, Chhattisgarh, he shared local delicacies, Thethri and Khurmi, fostering a spirit of camaraderie.
When asked for recommendations on travel destinations, PM Modi encouraged students to first compile a list of nearby places within their district and state before making broader travel plans. He also advocated for the importance of academic peer support, insisting that students should help their peers who face challenges. “Befriending these students and discussing topics with them is invaluable, as teaching others enhances one’s own understanding,” he explained.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister placed significant importance on the balance between sports and academics, reiterating the mantra, “Khelogey to khilogey,” which underscores the idea that physical activity is essential for overall growth.
Leadership is not limited to political pursuits: PM Modi
On the topic of leadership, PM Modi encouraged students to adopt an initiative-driven mindset. He clarified that leadership is not limited to political pursuits, stating, “A good leader effectively communicates ideas and concepts.” His recent interactions also addressed various concerns such as exam stress, time management, wellness, and the pursuit of dreams, providing valuable insights to alleviate anxiety during examination times.
The 2026 edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha aims to equip students with strategies to stay focused and stress-free during examinations, supporting the broader objectives outlined in the National Education Policy 2020. Students showcased their creativity by presenting self-composed songs, enriching the interactive experience.
