The CSR Journal is celebrating its anniversary and establishing a platform for individual efforts to empower the underprivileged society through SWAG (Social Welfare & Growth) Awards 2016. The occasion will also mark the commencement of crucial announcements by The CSR Journal.

In addition, performances by Dancing Queens, an LGBTQI community-based dance groupStand-up artist Kenneth Sebastian. An exclusive song on social responsibility and ethics; written and composed by Alternative Lyrical Pop Band saMcara. The song will focus on the changing trends in the CSR and philanthropy culture. A panel of speakers will provide their expertise on the citizen/corporate social responsibility domain, largely.

SWAG Awards 2016 aims to create an understanding and awareness for selfless efforts of individuals amongst the corporate firms, society and communities. The awards are broadly categorised under: Education & Skill Training, Sports, Health & Sanitation, Environment & Agriculture and Women Empowerment & Child Welfare. A committee of experts evaluated the initial short-listing to provide the top-3 projects in each category. The final-round will be assessed by a 15-member jury (3 jury members for each category) comprising of CXOs from profit and non-profit organisations.

Through this occasion, The CSR Journal will attempt to create a homogeneous growth model for sustainable development; working in sync with policy-makers, top corporate houses and non-profit organisations.

The CSR Journal received a letter of acknowledgement from the Governor of Maharashtra, Shri CH. Vidyasagar Rao saying, “During the last one year, the portal has published several interesting, informative articles and successful stories on the issue of Corporate Social Responsibility. The portal has thus played a catalytic role in spreading awareness about the CSR policy of the government among various stakeholders and in guiding companies about effective implement of CSR provisions.”

SWAG (Social Welfare & Growth) Awards 2016 is an opportunity to bring forward selfless initiatives of individuals from across India. The CSR Journal SWAG Awards, 2016 is celebrating the contributions made in order to bring about a sustainable change in the lives of the underprivileged.
