A tragic incident unfolded in Dhenkanal district, Odisha, where a father reportedly stabbed his son to death following a heated argument about ancestral property. Police confirmed the victim is Khirod Sahu, who had been in an ongoing family conflict with his father, Bibhuti Sahu, regarding their land and inheritance.
The dispute had escalated over time, leading Khirod to visit the local police station to file a First Information Report (FIR) against his father prior to the incident. After completing his visit to the police station, Khirod returned home, where he was confronted by Bibhuti. Authorities stated that angered by his son’s legal actions, Bibhuti allegedly attacked Khirod with a knife, inflicting multiple stab wounds.
Footage capturing the incident has reportedly emerged, depicting the violent outcome of the altercation. Following the attack, Bibhuti Sahu fled the scene, prompting local law enforcement to launch an immediate investigation. Police tracked his movements and subsequently apprehended him.
The incident occurred in Kampulei village, situated in the Kankadahada area of Dhenkanal district. The police are currently pursuing further inquiries in connection with the case. Bibhuti’s brother has publicly expressed outrage over the incident, calling for stringent punishment against his sibling. He stated, “He is my younger brother, the accused, and he has killed his son. We want him to face the death penalty. We urge the government to take firm action.”
