The CSR Journal Magazine

A Mumbai hospital was the target of a bomb threat communicated through an email, indicating a potential “LED blast” at 4:00 PM today. The alarming message was dispatched around 11:00 PM last night, inciting considerable distress among patients and hospital staff. In response to the threat, the Mumbai Police deployed their Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) to conduct an extensive search of the facility.

No Explosives Found During Inspection

Following a thorough examination of the premises, law enforcement officials did not uncover any suspicious items. The police have initiated efforts to trace the source of the email. Further updates regarding the progress of the investigation are anticipated. This incident has heightened security concerns across the hospital premises, ensuring the safety of individuals present.

Related Incident at IMD Office in Hyderabad

In a separate yet related event, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) office located in Hyderabad also received a bomb threat via email earlier this week. The message alleged the presence of 14 RDX bombs within the building, prompting immediate action from the staff. Following the receipt of the threat, IMD employees promptly notified the police, who acted decisively.

Evacuation and Search Efforts Initiated

The staff at the IMD office was evacuated to a secure location to ensure their safety. Subsequently, police and bomb squad units conducted a comprehensive inspection of the premises, meticulously checking each room for any potential explosives. A spokesperson from the Begumpet Police confirmed the receipt of the threat, stating, “A bomb threat mail was received at the Indian Meteorological Department office in Begumpet, and they have informed about the matter. The bomb squad and dog squad reached the IMD office and conducted their checks, but nothing was found.” The authorities have filed a case and are actively investigating the situation.
