For the second consecutive day, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu MK Stalin remains admitted; he was hospitalized on Monday following complaints of dizziness after his morning workout.
Stalin, 70, known for his fitness regimen, is kept under observation as a precautionary measure. Doctors have advised three days of rest at the hospital; he will, however, continue to attend to his duties virtually.
A series of tests have been conducted to ensure he is fit, shared the hospital authorities. In a statement, Apollo Hospitals said, “Honourable Chief Minister M.K. Stalin is under observation and has been advised three more days of rest. He will continue discharging his responsibilities while in the hospital.”
Stalin’s wife Durga, his son and current Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi, and daughter Senthamarai Sabareesan are staying at the hospital and monitoring his health. Many senior leaders of the party and allies have visited the hospital to meet Stalin and inquire about his health condition.
Popular actors like Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan called the CM and conveyed best wishes for a speedy recovery. Leaders of opposition parties like Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) and former Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan also called and expressed concern for his health.
An official release from the Tamil Nadu government said, “On the basis of doctors’ advice that he would discharge official duties while in hospital, the Chief Minister discussed official matters with Chief Secretary N. Muruganandam today [July 22].”
The statement also shared that Stalin enquired about the progress of the Ungaludan Stalin programme. Till July 22, as many as 5.74 lakh petitions have been received under the programme.
