The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has intensified its ongoing enforcement operations aimed at addressing dangerous buildings, unauthorised constructions, and violations of the Master Plan of Delhi (MPD) and Building Bye-Laws. This initiative, according to MCD officials, is being executed across all 12 zones of the Corporation, ensuring compliance with construction norms to protect public safety.

During the recent enforcement activities, a total of 41 demolition actions were recorded across the various zones. In addition, the MCD also sealed 10 properties and issued 7 demolition orders against buildings that were found in breach of applicable regulations and guidelines. This concerted effort underscores the MCD’s commitment to maintaining structural integrity within the city.

Properties Affected by Demolitions

The enforcement drive has targeted several key areas within the capital, resulting in significant demolition actions. Notable locations include Vasant Kunj North in the South West Zone, Mayapuri DDA Market, Maya Enclave, Uttam Nagar, and Tilak Nagar in the West Zone. Other areas affected include Dev Nagar and Karol Bagh in the Central Zone, as well as Shakarpur, Shivpuri Extension, and Ganesh Nagar-II in the East Zone. The MCD also addressed issues in Mustafabad and Sabhapur within the North East Zone.

Yesterday, the MCD conducted a similar enforcement operation, during which 39 properties were demolished and an additional 6 properties were sealed for breaching the MPD and Building Bye-Laws. This pattern of enforcement reflects an ongoing initiative to tackle structural violations that compromise public safety.

Officials from the MCD have made it clear that no unauthorised construction will be tolerated. The Corporation has pledged to carry out the enforcement drive with full determination, focusing on buildings that pose risks to inhabitants and the general public.
