The CSR Journal Magazine

A wedding celebration in a village in Jharkhand turned tragic on Friday night when 41-year-old Lalit Singh lost his life after choking on a rasgulla. The incident occurred around 1 am during the wedding feast, where Lalit was enjoying the festivities and food with fellow villagers. Witnesses reported that he was eating a rasgulla when it became lodged in his throat, making it difficult for him to breathe.

Panic and Emergency Response

Family members and other attendees quickly noticed Lalit’s distress. Witnesses described a sudden change in his appearance as his face turned pale and he began gasping for air. Confusion and fear took hold of the gathering as attempts were made to dislodge the sweet from his throat. Despite the urgent efforts made at the venue, Lalit’s condition declined.

Hospital Admission and Medical Intervention

Realizing the severity of the situation, family members and villagers transported him to MGM Hospital. Upon arrival, medical personnel immediately examined Lalit, but efforts to revive him proved unsuccessful, and he was declared dead shortly thereafter. Medical professionals indicated that the rasgulla had obstructed his airway, leading to a fatal lack of oxygen.

Aftermath of the Incident

Following the post-mortem conducted on Saturday, Lalit’s body was returned to his family for last rites. The tragic event deeply affected the community, transforming a day meant for celebration into one of mourning. Villagers and relatives were left in shock, grappling with the sudden loss of a beloved member of their community.
