Balancing her roles as a hospital assistant and a domestic worker, she earned approximately Rs 10,000 to Rs 11,000 monthly. Despite these financial hardships, Rajkumari remained steadfast in her commitment to her daughters’ education, judiciously allocating resources to ensure Neelu could pursue her aspirations in medicine.

Academic Achievements and Opportunities

Neelu’s educational journey began at Prerna Girls School, where she distinguished herself academically. Enrolling in Class 11, she was awarded a scholarship from Study Hall School that recognised her potential. Her outstanding performance resulted in an 86 per cent in her Class 10 board examinations, which improved to 94 per cent in the CBSE Class 12 board examinations earlier this year.

In addition to her impressive academic achievements, Neelu’s capabilities earned her a place in the prestigious Vahani Scholarship programme. This programme, selected for only fifty exceptional students across India, will alleviate the financial burden of medical tuition fees and related educational expenses, thus facilitating her journey toward becoming a doctor.

Through her relentless pursuit of education, Neelu has demonstrated that with determination, imagination, and support, it is possible to ascend beyond one’s socio-economic circumstances.
