Legendary Actor Gene Hackman and Wife Found Dead at Their Santa Fe Home

Legendary actor Gene Hackman, and his spouse Betsy Arakawa, together with their dog, died at their New Mexico Santa Fe residence on a Wednesday afternoon. The movie industry remembered Hackman who reached 95 years of age as a Hollywood master who earned Oscars for his roles in “The French Connection” and “Unforgiven”. Heckman’s wife Arakawa was a pianist who reached age 63 while being married to his spouse since 1991.

Police Confirm No Sign of Murder Angle

The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Department started investigating the deaths and Sheriff Adan Mendoza stated there is no indication of criminal activity. Police authorities have yet to establish the specific cause that led to their demise. The department performs preliminary investigation work before acquiring necessary search warrants to advance their process Mendoza reported.
Throughout his career, Hackman appeared in approximately 100 films which made him a global celebrity through movies including “The Royal Tenenbaums” and “Superman”. Throughout his decades-long acting career, Hackman received four Golden Globes and two BAFTAs among other awards before his retirement in 2004. In 2004 Hackman retired from acting and later stated his retirement decision in his 2008 memoir.

Social media users suggest carbon monoxide poisoning could be responsible for the deaths because both the dog along with Hackman died. Legal authorities have yet to share any information about this view.
