iPhone 18 Pro Set for Upcoming Launch in September, Check Design Features & Colour Options

The CSR Journal Magazine

Apple is preparing for the launch of its latest flagship series, the iPhone 18 Pro, expected to debut in September. This timing aligns with the company’s historical pattern of unveiling flagship devices during that month. The new series is anticipated to include both the iPhone 18 Pro and the iPhone 18 Pro Max, while the standard iPhone 18 model may come later, likely in the spring of 2026.

The iPhone 17 Pro lineup, the current flagship models, introduced several design enhancements, reverting to an aluminium finish and integrating a vapour cooling chamber. The upcoming iPhone 18 series is expected to feature significant design modifications, particularly in the Dynamic Island component, which has been a focal point for users.

Industry insiders suggest that the iPhone 18 Pro may retain the dimensions of its predecessor, such as the 6.3-inch OLED display featured in the iPhone 17 Pro, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max is likely to maintain a 6.9-inch OLED screen as well.

Design Features and Colour Options

Rumours indicate that the Dynamic Island on the iPhone 18 Pro will be 35 per cent smaller than the previous generation. This reduction in size may require adjustments to the cut-out beneath the Dynamic Island. An informant known as Ice Universe noted on Weibo that, despite the compact size of the Dynamic Island, the existing bezel design will remain unchanged.

Another tipster, Majin, also known as @MajinBuofficia on X, suggested that the smaller Dynamic Island might be referred to as ‘Nano Island.’ Overall, the iPhone 18 Pro is expected to maintain a design aesthetic similar to the iPhone 17 Pro, featuring an aluminium unibody and a prominent camera island.

On the colour front, there is speculation about a deep red finish for the iPhone 18 Pro. Additionally, tech blogger Apple Club has suggested that consumers can expect four other colour options: Purple, Coffee, Black, and White, further diversifying customer choices.

Camera and Performance Specifications

The iPhone 18 Pro series is likely to utilise a triple rear camera system, equipped with three 48-megapixel sensors, which will include a primary lens, an ultra-wide lens, and a 4x telephoto lens. Reports indicate that a new variable aperture will be introduced for the main camera, allowing users improved control over exposure and depth effects.

In terms of low-light photography, advancements are expected for both the primary and telephoto sensors, enhancing performance. Moreover, Apple may implement a new three-layer stacked sensor obtained from Samsung, designed to minimise noise and improve the dynamic range of images.

For selfies, the iPhone 18 Pro is expected to retain the 18-megapixel front-facing camera provided in its predecessor, which has proven satisfactory for users thus far.

Chipset and Battery Enhancements

The iPhone 18 Pro lineup is anticipated to be powered by the new A20 Pro chipset. This chipset is reportedly constructed on a 2nm process, promising performance that is up to fifteen per cent faster and energy efficiency that is thirty per cent better compared to the A19 Pro chipset used in earlier models.

Battery capacity is another focus, with the iPhone 18 Pro Max expected to feature a larger battery, speculated to be between 5,100 and 5,200 mAh. This enhancement aims to accommodate the performance upgrades while ensuring longevity for users throughout the day.

Overall, the iPhone 18 Pro series is shaping up to offer a blend of aesthetic refinements and significant technological advancements, positioning itself as an exciting next step in Apple’s lineup.
