The Kremlin spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, has stated that both India and Russia are inclined towards a peaceful resolution of the Ukraine conflict, recognising the alignment of New Delhi’s stance with that of Moscow. During a virtual briefing from Moscow on September 8, Peskov expressed Russia’s appreciation for India’s readiness to take part in efforts aimed at resolving the ongoing crisis.
Peskov emphasised Russia’s awareness of India’s perspective on the conflict, asserting that their views largely coincide. He underscored Russia’s commitment to finding a peaceful solution, indicating that Moscow remains open to engaging in dialogues that promote such an outcome.
“The willingness of the Indian side to contribute to the resolution is welcomed,” Peskov stated, indicating that Russia values India’s involvement in the peace process.
Implications of Upcoming Bilateral Meeting
Peskov conveyed that the forthcoming bilateral discussion between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi would offer a platform to deliberate not only on the Ukraine situation but also on broader international matters.
