The CSR Journal Magazine

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has announced the opening of applications for the fourth batch of its Executive Programme in Robotics. This initiative focuses on key areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and robot control. The five-month online course is designed to equip participants with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for robotics and automation.

Scheduled to commence on January 30, 2027, and conclude on June 26, 2027, the programme is part of the institute’s Continuing Education Programme (CEP). The course structure aims to accommodate learners’ schedules, allowing them to engage in their professional commitments while pursuing this educational opportunity.

Eligibility Criteria and Class Schedule

To qualify for the programme, candidates must have completed their graduation with a minimum of 50 per cent marks. This requirement ensures that participants possess a foundational understanding necessary for advanced studies in robotics. The online classes are set to take place on Saturdays and alternate Sundays, running from 10 am to 2:30 pm, thereby facilitating a balance between study and other responsibilities.

The flexible scheduling is intended to attract a diverse group of professionals, including those already working in related fields who wish to enhance their expertise. This approach reflects IIT Delhi’s commitment to making advanced education accessible to a wider audience.

The curriculum is designed to cover a broad spectrum of topics, including the fundamentals of robotics, automation processes, and applications of AI and machine learning in robotic systems. Participants will also delve into robot design, sensors, motion control, robot simulation, embedded systems, and relevant programming tools.

Course Structure and Practical Training

The programme emphasises a practice-oriented learning structure, allocating 40 per cent of the coursework to theoretical knowledge and 60 per cent to practical training. This balance aims to ensure that participants not only understand the concepts but also gain hands-on experience in building and programming robots.

One of the key features of the course is the opportunity for participants to construct a functional robot, which will enhance their practical skills and understanding of robotics applications. This experiential learning component is critical in preparing participants for real-world challenges in the field of automation and robotics.

In addition to the technical skills acquired, the programme aims to foster critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, which are essential in the rapidly evolving landscape of technology and robotics. By engaging in collaborative projects and practical exercises, participants will be better prepared to contribute to advancements in the industry.

Application Process and Fees

The total fee for the programme is set at Rs 1,69,000, exclusive of an 18 per cent Goods and Services Tax (GST). Additionally, applicants are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs 1,000. This fee structure is designed to cover the comprehensive resources and support provided throughout the course.

Prospective candidates must submit their applications by the deadline of October 18, 2026. Those interested in applying can find detailed eligibility criteria and application procedures on the official IIT Delhi Continuing Education Programme website. This initiative represents an opportunity for individuals to enhance their skills in a field that is increasingly vital in today’s technological landscape.

By participating in this programme, learners will be positioned to advance their careers in robotics and automation, contributing to innovations that shape the future of technology. IIT Delhi continues to play a pivotal role in fostering education and research in cutting-edge fields, ensuring that its graduates are well-equipped for the challenges ahead.
