The CSR Journal Magazine

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has announced the release of Rs 15.75 crore aimed at various developmental initiatives in the Bhatwari area of Rohru Assembly constituency and Kasha-Pat in Rampur Assembly constituency. This allocation is part of commitments made to the local populace during the ‘Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar’ outreach programme. The funds are particularly focused on enhancing educational infrastructure and overall community development.

Among the significant allocations, Rs 4 crore has been earmarked for the construction of new school buildings at Rachauli and Kasha-Pat. During an event at Rampur School, a student had brought forward a request for Rs 2 crore specifically targeted at building a new structure for the Government Senior Secondary School in Rachauli. In response to this appeal, the Chief Minister announced the necessary funding, which has now been officially approved by the Planning Department.

In addition to the Rachauli school funding, another Rs 2 crore has been allocated for the construction of a new building in Kasha-Pat School. The Chief Minister’s initiative reflects a larger commitment to improve educational facilities for children in the region, enabling better learning environments.

Infrastructure Enhancement Initiatives

The government has also released a total of Rs 15.75 crore for nine different developmental projects based on the pleas of local residents. This funding is set to strengthen and upgrade critical infrastructure within the region, which includes essential public facilities such as roads, bridges, footbridges, and crash barriers.

In the Tanganu-Janglik Panchayat area, which falls under the Rohru Assembly constituency, Rs 4 crore has been allocated for the construction of a bridge over Sundru Khad. This funding responds directly to a demand from local residents for improved transport connectivity. Additionally, Rs 1 crore is dedicated to the construction of Barshil Bridge and Rs 25 lakh towards developing a footbridge at Shishara.

Another notable allocation includes Rs 50 lakh for the establishment of an Ambedkar Bhawan in Rohru. The Planning Department has been tasked with forwarding the sanction letters to the Public Works Department to facilitate the execution of these projects.

Local Governance and Community Interaction

In Kasha-Pat, part of Rampur Assembly constituency, Rs 2 crore has been allocated for installing crash barriers on the Dhandol to Kasha-Pat route, responding to local residents’ safety concerns. An additional Rs 2 crore has been assigned for improving the Jabal-Khabal road along with the installation of crash barriers.

The ‘Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar’ programme has emerged as a vital platform for the government to address the grievances of the public effectively. It aims not only to enhance communication between residents and officials but also to translate commitments made during these interactions into actionable outcomes, significantly impacting community development.

Through these initiatives, the Himachal Pradesh government aims to ensure the timely execution of development works that align with the needs and aspirations of the local population. The release of funds marks a crucial step towards improved infrastructure and enhanced quality of life for the residents in the Shimla district.
