Heroin worth Rs 3 crore seized by West Bengal STF, 4 arrested

In a major success against drug trafficking, West Bengal Special Task Force (STF) raided two separate places in the state and seized 2.8 kg of heroin, the estimated market value of which is around Rs 3 crore. Four drug traffickers have been arrested in the incident.

A case has been filed against the arrested under the Narcotics Act. However, it is not yet clear where this huge amount of heroin was being trafficked. The investigating officers are interrogating the arrested. Was there a plan to distribute a huge amount of heroin in the city during the recently concluded Durga Puja festival? The police are investigating.

Two accused with 1 kg Heroin caught from Palashi

On Tuesday, October 7, after receiving a tip-off from a secret source, the officers of the Special Task Force conducted a special operation in the Palashi area under Kaliganj police station in Nadia district and caught two traffickers red-handed. It is learned that two were arrested while smuggling about one kg of heroin filled in packets. The names of the two arrested persons are Hafizul Shikari, aged 53 and Jibarel Mandal, aged 63. A case has been registered against the two arrested under the Narcotics Act. Interrogation is also being conducted.

Two accused with 1.8 kg Heroin caught from Dankuni station

The STF also raided Dankuni station last Saturday after receiving a tip-off from a secret source. This special allegation was made with the Belur GRP. In this case too, two people were arrested red-handed. The names of the two arrested are Mohirul Biswas, aged 64, and Abid Parvez, aged 66. According to sources, the arrested Mohirul is a resident of Hariharpara in Murshidabad. On the other hand, Abid’s house is in Singhbhum area of ​​Jharkhand. The STF recovered 1.8 kg of heroin from the arrested. But it is still not clear why this large quantity of drug was being brought.

Drugs being sent from Dimapur, Nagaland

During interrogation, the arrested said that they had come to Dankuni station to deliver the drug. But the investigators are trying to find out to whom it was supposed to be given. Not only that, the investigators have also learned that the arrested had brought this large quantity of drug from Dimapur in Nagaland. It is learned that Belur GRP and Bengal STF have registered two cases under the Narcotics Act and started investigation.
