Extra Festival Specials Announced! Indian Railways to Run 4 Trains Between Mumbai & Chhapra

In anticipation of the festive season, Indian Railways has announced the operation of four additional Festival Special trains between Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Mumbai and Chhapra. The move aims to manage the increased passenger demand and ensure smoother travel for festival-goers.

These special services will run in both directions, providing convenient travel options for long-distance travelers.

Schedule and Timings

The first pair of trains, 05084 and 05083, will operate as follows:

  • 05084 will depart Mumbai on Friday, October 31, 2025, at 14:00 hrs, reaching Chhapra at 04:45 hrs on the third day.

  • 05083 will leave Chhapra on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at 20:00 hrs, arriving in Mumbai at 12:00 hrs on the third day.

The second pair, 05588 and 05587, will run as follows:

  • 05588 departs Mumbai on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 14:00 hrs, reaching Chhapra at 04:45 hrs on the third day.

  • 05587 leaves Chhapra on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 20:00 hrs, arriving at Mumbai by 12:00 hrs on the third day.

Coach Composition

The train composition has been designed to cater to diverse passenger needs:

  • 05084/83: 10 AC-3 Tier Economy, 4 Sleeper Class, 4 Second Seating Chair Car, 1 Second Sitting cum Guard’s Brake Van, and 1 Generator Van.

  • 05588/87: 2 AC 2 Tier, 6 AC 3 Tier, 2 AC-3 Tier Economy, 5 Sleeper Class, 4 General Second Class, 1 Second Sitting cum Guard’s Brake Van, and 1 Generator Van.

Major Halts

Both services will stop at major stations including Kalyan, Igatpuri, Nashik Road, Bhusaval, Khandwa, Itarsi, Rani Kamplapati, Bina, Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi, Orai, Kanpur Central, Aishbagh, Badshahnagar, Gomti Nagar, Barabanki, Gonda, Basti, Gorakhpur, Kaptanganj, Ramkola, Padrauna, Thawe, Dighwa Dubauli, and Masrakh.

Booking Information

Reservation for 05084 and 05588 opens on October 30, 2025, at all computerised booking centres and on the IRCTC website. For unreserved coaches, bookings can be made through the UTS system at regular charges applicable for superfast Mail/Express trains.
