Early Sunday morning, an alarming shooting took place outside the home of social media personality and Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner Elvish Yadav in Gurugram’s Sector 57. The attack occurred around 5:30 am, when three masked individuals arrived on a motorcycle and unleashed a barrage of bullets at the residence before fleeing.
Authorities say over two dozen rounds were fired, striking both the ground and first floors of the multi-storey house. Yadav, who resides on the upper floors, was not present during the incident. His family members and caretaker were inside but escaped unharmed.
Elvish’s father, Ramavtar Yadav, told reporters, “I was sleeping when the firing occurred. About 25-30 shots were fired. Elvish didn’t get any threat. Three men were seen on the bike on CCTV, while two (of them) were seen at the gate.”
Shortly after the shooting, a gang known as the Himanshu Bhau group reportedly claimed responsibility through a social media post. The post accused Yadav of promoting gambling and warned, “Those who promote gambling must be ready for a call or a bullet,” naming gang members Neeraj Faridpur and Bhau Ritoliya as the shooters. While this message has circulated widely, the authenticity of the post has not been independently verified.
Elvish Yadav’s House Attacked in Early Morning Firing
Gurugram Police responded swiftly, collecting forensic evidence from the site and reviewing CCTV footage from nearby locations. Sandeep Kumar, the police department’s public relations officer, confirmed: “Three masked miscreants opened fire outside the residence of YouTuber and Big Boss OTT winner Elvish Yadav in Gurugram’s Sector 57. The incident took place at around 5.30 am. More than a dozen rounds were fired. Elvish Yadav was not at his residence at the time of the firing.”
Investigators are currently awaiting a formal complaint from the family to proceed with filing an FIR. Police have initiated legal proceedings and say further action will follow as the investigation unfolds.
Visuals from the scene show visible damage to parts of the building, including shattered glass and bullet marks on the exterior. Despite the intense gunfire, no physical injuries have been reported.
According to his father, Elvish had not been the target of any prior threats, and there were no known disputes that might have triggered such an attack. The YouTuber is said to be currently working outside the state of Haryana.
Fazilpuria Attack Echoed in Elvish Yadav Shooting
This shooting bears resemblance to a recent incident involving Haryanvi singer Fazilpuria, whose car was fired upon in Gurugram. He escaped unhurt, but his associate Rohit Shaukeen was gunned down earlier in a broad daylight murder. The Himanshu Bhau gang had similarly claimed responsibility in that case, raising concerns about escalating gang activity targeting high-profile figures.
Yadav, 27, rose to prominence as a digital content creator and gained nationwide recognition after winning Bigg Boss OTT 2 in 2023. Alongside his online fame, he has been involved in several controversies.
In 2024, he was arrested by Noida Police on allegations that he was linked to a party where cobra venom was allegedly being used as a recreational drug. Authorities claimed that Yadav had a role in organising the event. Though he was later granted bail, the case remains active.
In May, the Allahabad High Court rejected Yadav’s plea to dismiss charges under the Wildlife Protection Act. His legal team, led by senior advocate Navin Sinha and lawyer Nipun Singh, argued that the complainant lacked jurisdiction under the Act, and insisted that no illegal substances were recovered from Yadav or that he was even present at the alleged party.
Despite this, law enforcement agencies, including the Enforcement Directorate, are continuing parallel investigations, including a probe under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
As of now, the police have not confirmed the motive behind the firing, and investigations are ongoing.
