Mumbai, India: NIIT Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation founded by the promotors of NIIT, has impacted the lives of nearly 93,000 beneficiaries in FY24 across the country through its collaborative initiative, NReach. The NReach program was designed to provide access to skill development and education programs in partnership with NGOs nationwide, thereby maximising their collective impact to upskill and enable India’s youth.
In response to India’s large young population and the crucial need for appropriate skills, NReach has successfully established partnerships with over 110 NGOs and set up 400 centres across 27 states – having trained 92,952 beneficiaries in the fiscal year 2023-2024, with 34,148 individuals placed in various job roles.
To equip NGOs with the appropriate facilities to undertake upskilling initiatives, the NReach program ensures comprehensive support to its partner NGOs’ faculty training, curriculum development, assessments, and industry-recognized certification, alongside capacity-building workshops and placement orientations – facilitating organisations in successfully executing their programs.
Charu Kapoor, Country Director at NIIT Foundation noted, “Our aim to develop the NReach initiative was always two-fold: to enhance capacities of our partner NGOs in driving their initiatives with utmost success while allowing NIIT Foundation to broaden its influence and effectiveness throughout the country. Looking ahead, we hope to continually expand our NReach network and further aiming to impact more underserved beneficiaries in partnerships with other NGOs.”
Through the NReach program, NIIT Foundation has so far partnered with renowned organisations like Smile Foundation, Magic Bus India Foundation, VIDYA, SOS Children’s Villages of India, Save The Children India, Catalyst for Social Action Kotak Education Foundation, and the National Federation of the Blind – allowing the involved parties to maximise their impact across the lengths and breadths of India.
As NIIT Foundation continues its mission to bridge the skills gap and create employment opportunities, the NReach program stands as a testament to the power of collaborative efforts in empowering India’s youth.
