Panic spread through a residential pocket of Amritsar after a sudden firing incident left a man and a woman injured on Tuesday. Both victims were rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors said their condition is stable.

Labourer Shot Outside Salon, Shooter Escapes on Scooter

According to police, the shooting took place when the male victim, a daily-wage labourer, stepped out to visit a local salon. Eyewitnesses said a scooter slowed down near the spot, and the rider opened fire before speeding away, leaving residents stunned.

The injured man later told police that he had no dispute or rivalry with anyone and was unable to understand why he was targeted. The incident has reportedly left him shaken.

Law enforcement officials said teams are analysing CCTV footage from the area and questioning people who were nearby at the time of the attack. Early findings suggest the shooter escaped immediately after firing the rounds.
