BRICS Summit 2026 Set to Host Global Leaders in New Delhi

India is hosting the 18th BRICS Summit on September 12–13, 2026 at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. Guided by the official theme, ‘Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability’, the high-stakes gathering focuses on expanding local currency trade, cross-border digital payments (such as India’s UPI model), and amplifying the voice of the Global South amid shifting global economic and political climates.

The 18th BRICS Summit will see leaders and representatives from full member states, partner/outreach countries, and international organizations.

Top corporate executives and business leaders from Brazil, Russia, India, China, the UAE, and other member nations are gathering in New Delhi for the BRICS Business Forum, which precedes the main 18th BRICS Summit.

Friday Event

Before the main two-day event, PM Modi is set to address the BRICS Business Forum in New Delhi on Friday. Top business leaders from China, Russia, Brazil, the UAE and other BRICS countries are expected to attend.

Commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal and external affairs minister S Jaishankar are expected to address the opening session. The discussions will cover agriculture, trade, investment, supply chains and the digital economy. The meetings will later lead into a leaders’ session, which is expected to be addressed by Modi.
