Kolagani Srinivas, representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), was elected as the Mayor of Karimnagar Municipal Corporation on February 16. His victory was celebrated at the Municipal office, where Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar and various BJP leaders congratulated him.

The elections occurred on February 11 across seven Municipal Corporations and 116 Municipalities in Telangana, encompassing a total of 414 wards in the Corporations of Kothagudem, Karimnagar, Mahabubnagar, Mancherial, Nizamabad, Nalgonda, and Ramagundam, as well as 2,582 wards in the municipalities.

In a separate development, Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, expressed gratitude to the citizens of Telangana for endorsing the Congress party during the recent municipal elections. He attributed the results to the party’s focus on “people-first policies” that emphasize social justice, dignity, and inclusive growth. Gandhi conveyed his appreciation through a social media post, thanking the Congress leaders and workers who contributed to the party’s triumph.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also expressed his satisfaction with the party’s performance in the local body elections in Telangana. He reaffirmed that the results signify the trust placed in the Congress party by the electorate. Kharge thanked the dedicated grassroots workers for their efforts in achieving this victory, which he believes reflects the public’s hopes for social justice and economic empowerment in the state.
