Bihar Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari said the state government has held discussions with students protesting over issues linked to recruitment and competitive examinations. However, demonstrations by BPSC aspirants continued amid demands for action on alleged irregularities and delays.

Government Says Concerns Have Been Addressed

Tiwari said the government remains open to dialogue and has resolved the issues raised by students during their protests. He said addressing problems faced by Bihar’s youth is a broader government priority and not simply a response to the ongoing agitation.

The minister also invited students to approach the government with any concerns that remain unresolved.

Protesters Raise Recruitment, Exam Concerns

Protesters, however, claimed several longstanding issues remain unresolved. Student representative Vikas Bhatt called for improvements in Bihar’s education and recruitment systems and raised concerns over repeated examination paper leaks.

He also pointed to the absence of librarian recruitment for nearly 18 years and expressed dissatisfaction over delays related to examination schedules conducted by the Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC).

Police Disperse Marchers

The agitation included a march from Gandhi Maidan towards Raj Bhavan. Police used water cannons to disperse demonstrators and detained several protesters.

Some students have also demanded the cancellation of the 70th BPSC examination, citing alleged irregularities.

TRE-4 Recruitment Also in Focus

The proposed Teacher Recruitment Examination Fourth Phase (TRE-4) has emerged as another major issue. Protesters have objected to the proposed two-phase examination and are demanding the release of the official TRE-4 recruitment advertisement.

JD(U) leader Shravan Kumar said the government was taking the concerns of students and job seekers seriously and would act according to existing laws and rules. He also highlighted the government’s target of providing 10 million jobs between 2025 and 2030, while urging young people to remain patient.

The continuing protests indicate that despite the government’s claim that key demands have been addressed, several students remain dissatisfied and are seeking further action.
