Bihar Elections: RJD expels ten more leaders ahead of polls

Just before the first phase of voting in Bihar Assembly elections, Rashtriya Janata Dal has shown its 10 rebel leaders the way out of the party. One of these names is Fateh Bahadur, MLA from Dehri, Rohtas. By issuing a notification late on Wednesday evening, the party said that these leaders are being expelled from RJD for 6 years for working against the candidates of the Grand Alliance.

The leaders whom the party has shown the way out include Fateh Bahadur Singh, MLA, Dehri, Satish Kumar, State Vice President, RJD, Nalanda, Mohd. Syed Nausadul Navi alias Pappu Khan Bihar Sharif, Mohd. Ghulam Jilani Warsi, former MLA, Kanti, Mohd. Riazul Haq Raju, former MLA, Gopalganj, Amod Kumar Mandal, State General Secretary, RJD, Purnia, Virendra Kumar Sharma, active member. Names of Sinheshwar, E. Pranab Prakash, active member, Madhepura, Jipsa Anand, state general secretary, Mahila Cell cum Zilla Parishad member Bhojpur and Rajeev Ranjan alias Pinku, RJD leader, active member, Bhojpur are included.

what is the allegation

The notification issued by RJD reads, “On the basis of the authorized information received by the state headquarters of the party regarding anti-party conduct, activities and adverse active activities by the following party colleagues as independent candidates or against the authorized candidates of Rashtriya Janata Dal in various assembly constituencies of Bihar Legislative Assembly General Election-2025, the following leaders/workers of the party are expelled from the primary membership of Rashtriya Janata Dal for six years.”

Till now 37 rebel leaders have been expelled from the party

This is not the first time that RJD has taken such major action against the rebels. Just a few days ago, the party had shown the door to 27 leaders including two sitting MLAs and Mahila Morcha state president Ritu Jaiswal. Including today’s action, till now a total of 38 rebel leaders have been expelled from the party. All these leaders were either contesting the election as independents against the official candidate of the party or were supporting the opposing camp.
