Big Gang Crackdown! Delhi Police Foil Murder Plot, Arrest Armed Shooter

The CSR Journal Magazine

In a significant operation against organised crime in Delhi, the Crime Branch has arrested 22-year-old Kuldeep Singh, identified as the primary shooter for the Kaushal Chaudhary gang. Authorities received actionable intelligence regarding Singh’s intention to eliminate a businessman from Burari, which was part of a scheme to assert gang dominance and expand its extortion activities. The gang’s strategic move aimed at sending a stern warning to rival factions in the area.

Police Operation Details

Acting on the gathered intelligence, a team from the Anti-Gangster Squad (AGS) executed a tactical operation near Sector-17 in Dwarka. The police managed to intercept Singh while he was riding a scooter reported as stolen. During the apprehension, he attempted to flee but was quickly subdued by law enforcement personnel.

Recovery of Firearms

Upon conducting a search, officials recovered a PX-30 automatic pistol with a 7.62 mm calibre, a 7.65 mm pistol that was loaded, and five live ammunition cartridges. Authorities have since registered a case under the Arms Act at the Crime Branch Police Station, indicating the severity of the situation and the threat posed by gang-related activities.

Gang Network and Motivations

Investigations unveiled that Kuldeep Singh was allegedly following orders from gang leaders based outside India, specifically Pawan Shokeen and Gurdeep, also known as Paa Ji. They had instructed him to carry out the murder as part of a broader scheme to fortify their extortion racket, not just within Delhi but also in neighbouring states. This incident underscores the extensive reach of the gang and its efforts to fortify its influence.

Criminal Background of the Accused

Singh’s criminal history includes involvement in a high-profile extortion case worth Rs. 5 crore that occurred in Punjab in 2024. Following this incident, he was released on bail as of August 2025. Police sources noted that he had conducted detailed reconnaissance of his target and was maintaining contact with accomplices in Punjab and Uttar Pradesh, primarily through encrypted messaging services, indicating a high level of planning and coordination within the gang.

Stolen Vehicle and Broader Implications

The scooter used by Singh at the time of his arrest was traced back to Murad Nagar in Uttar Pradesh, confirming its stolen status. The arrest is being perceived as a pivotal step in addressing the recent surge in organised crime, extortion attempts, and armed assaults in the National Capital Region. Authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover the broader network connected to Singh and to identify and apprehend additional gang members operating internationally.
