In line with the Government of India’s vision of empowering women and girl child under its flagship Beti Bachao Beti Padhao programme, Delhi-NCR’s real estate player ASF Group has committed to provide skill development to at least 1,000 underprivileged girls and women.
“Education is the catalyst for social change and it plays a significant role in empowering. As a responsible corporate we are keen to leverage our capabilities and contribute to support the national priority of ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’. We are delighted to share that with help of our CSR partner we aim to extend support to around 1,000 more girls by 2020,” says Anil Saraf, CMD, ASF Group.
In order to empower such women and girls, ASF group joined hands with MasterG, a Delhi based Skill Development centre to ensure that needy women and girls living in Gurugram’s Vatsal Valley (Gawalpahari) Area in the district are provided with support. The group has been socially active in the area for the last two years.
“We are encouraging women to get skilled in the garment industry. With consistent team efforts, we have managed to train 250 women and girls of Gurugram’s Vatsal Valley (Gawalpahari), Mandi Village and Bandhwari Village so far. We hope to open an additional centre in Bhati mines area of Delhi soon to scale up our cause,” Saraf added.
This program aims to simultaneously address three broad agendas. It will attempt to regularise educational support to girls, empower women by making them self reliant and enthuse them with tools to take up various challenges at their workplace.
