In a major push to expand tech-driven employment opportunities in the Northeast, the Arunachal Pradesh government has teamed up with IIT Delhi to launch a free, intensive artificial intelligence (AI) training programme for college students and recent graduates. Officials announced the initiative on Thursday.
The programme, fully sponsored by the state, will begin in the second week of January in Itanagar.
Designed as a five- to six-week offline course, it will blend classroom teaching with hands-on project development. Each batch will attend two-hour sessions daily, ensuring comprehensive exposure to core AI skills.

Curriculum tailored for industry readiness
According to officials, the curriculum will span a wide range of crucial areas which include fundamentals of AI and machine learning, data analysis and visualization, Python-based AI project development and resume building and career preparation
The goal is to help participants build real-world, industry-aligned projects, preparing them for emerging roles in AI-driven sectors.
Registrations for the programme are currently open, and applicants must submit their forms by January 4 to be considered for the first batch.
