The CSR Journal Magazine

BJP leader Arjun Singh’s controversial statement on Nepal gave advantage to the ruling TMC. TMC started filing FIR against Singh. On the other hand, Singh said, he will not change his stand.

What is the controversy?

Controversy sparked after Singh made remarks by drawing an example of Nepal’s fiery situation. He said, “Unemployed youths should learn from Nepal.” TMC MP of Barrackpore Partha Bhowmick said Singh basically accused of threatening to murder the Chief Minister and complaint will be lodged in almost all police stations across state.

What Singh said?

Singh said on Thursday, “When the youth of Bengal will be awakened to overcome this corrupt government of the state! We are waiting. Without blood, no corrupt rule ends. Many said that Gandhiji was liberated by playing songs. I personally do not believe in them.”

He then added, “Unemployed youths should learn from Nepal. There, the youth of 18 to 30 years have shown the power. This is needed in Bengal. On the day when the youth of Bengal will be awakened, people like us are willing to lead from the first row.”

After this statement of former MP of Barrackpore, current MP of Barrackpore, Partha Bhowmick of TMC said, “The illiterates when say, they speak like this. Bangladesh is a nation, Nepal is also is a nation. and West Bengal is a state. He is talking to the youth of the India of 18 to 39 years to do this against the Government of India. Because in the country and the BJP -ruled states there are all signs of corruption like that. Nevertheless, we will never say that India is a country like Nepal, because we are believers in democracy. Basically saying such things he is basically threatened to kill the Chief Minister.”

He then said, TMC will file FIR in as many as police stations. On the other hand Singh said after hearing Bhowmick’s statement, “I am not afraid of their threat. They can file complaint against me as many as 400 police stations. But, I will not change my stand.”
