The Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, is set to commence a three-day official visit to Goa on September 5, which will conclude on September 7. The itinerary highlights his engagement in various administrative and security-related matters. On September 6, Shah will chair a morning meeting aimed at reviewing issues pertaining to Goa. This meeting will involve discussions across different divisions within the Ministry of Home Affairs, centring on concerns relevant to the state. It will be an opportunity for various stakeholders to present their views and discuss potential solutions through coordinated efforts.

Later that day, the Home Minister will hold a press conference in the afternoon focusing on narcotics at Hotel Taj Cidade de Goa. The session is anticipated to address the government’s strategies to combat drug trafficking and enhance the nation’s efforts to tackle narcotics issues. This interaction is expected to shed light on recent developments in the battle against drugs.

Inauguration of Party Office and Core Committee Meeting

During his visit, Amit Shah will also inaugurate the newly constructed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state office, named Atal Bhavan. This inauguration reflects the party’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its organisational structure in Goa. Following the opening ceremony, Shah will chair a meeting with the BJP’s State Core Committee. This gathering aims to discuss party strategies and issues relevant to their political activities in the state.

The discussions during this meeting are expected to align with the party’s objectives in the region, providing insights into the BJP’s approach towards governance and public engagement in Goa. Participation in the Western Zonal Council Meeting

Additionally, Shah will attend the Goa Police President’s Colours Award Ceremony at the Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium in Taleigao. This ceremony recognises the distinguished service and professional excellence of uniformed services, enhancing the morale of police personnel in Goa. The event underscores the government’s commitment to honouring those who contribute significantly to national security and public welfare.
