Bihar’s Gaya airport has once again brought a big gift for the passengers. Air India’s Delhi flight, which was stopped during the Covid period, is restarting from September 1 this year. This daily service will not only strengthen Delhi connectivity, but will also benefit the tourism industry.
Flight stopped during Covid-19 pandemic
Air India had stopped the Gaya-Delhi flight during the Corona pandemic in 2021. Since then, passengers had only the option of flying on one airline- IndiGo. People were facing problems due to lack of seats and expensive fare. Now with the return of Air India, direct flights between Gaya-Delhi will increase from one to two.
How much will be the fare?
Air India’s commercial class ticket will start from Rs 7122, while the business class fare will be up to Rs 25,000. The flight will leave Delhi daily at 2:30 pm and reach Gaya at 4 pm. Return from Gaya will leave at 4:40 pm and reach Delhi at 6:10 pm.
Big boost for tourism industry
Gaya and Bodh Gaya are international tourist places, where a large number of foreign tourists arrive every year. With the restoration of Air India flight, passengers will increase options, rent will reduce and connectivity will improve.
Sandeep Kumar, president of the Bodh Gaya Travel Association, said, “Tourists used to have a lot of problems due to lack of flight from Air India. Now this service will speed up tourism.”
This flight of Air India not only connects Delhi, but will also make connectivity easier for other international routes. According to Gaya Airport Director Bangajit Saha, this service will now be available regularly and the process of booking has also started.
