“Maar Nahi Daalna Tha”: Ahmedabad Class 10 Student Killed by Junior, Instagram Chats Reveal Horror

The CSR Journal Magazine

In a shocking incident a Class 10 student, Nayan Santani, was fatally stabbed by a junior from Class 8. The incident occurred outside the Seventh-Day Adventist Higher Secondary School in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. The attack was followed by a verbal altercation. Nayan was rushed to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries later that night.

The Crime and CCTV Evidence

As school ended, Nayan was exiting the premises when he was confronted by the accused and a few others. The dispute escalated, and the junior stabbed Nayan in the abdomen before fleeing. CCTV footage shows Nayan stumbling back inside, clutching his wound, before collapsing. The attacker was later located by school security and handed over to police.

Following the incident, police recovered a chilling Instagram conversation between the accused and his friend, where the boy appears to confess to the stabbing. When asked if he committed the act, the accused admitted, “Yes,” and later said, “Tell him I killed him.” He explained that the victim allegedly provoked him by saying, “Who are you? What will you do?”

The conversation on Instagram

Friend: Bhai tumne kuch kiya aj? (Brother, did you do something today?)

Accused: Haan. (Yes.)

Friend: Bhai tumne chaku mara tha? (Brother, did you stab someone?)

Accused: Teko kisne bola (Who told you?)

Friend: Call kro ek min. Call pe baat karte (Please call for a minute. Let’s talk.)

Accused: Nahi nahi (No, no.)

Friend: Chat pe ye sabh nahi. Merko tera naam pehle aaya dimag mai. Isliye terko kiya (Not over the chat. Your name came to my mind first so I texted you.)

Accused: Abhi bada bhai hain saath me. Usko nahi khabar. Bataya kisne! (I am with my brother. He doesn’t know what happened today. Who told him?)

Friend: Vo mar gaya shayad se. (He (the victim) has died.)

Accused: Hainnn. Kon tha wese? (What? Who was he?)

Friend: Abe chaku tune mara tha? Vo puch raha hu. (I am asking if you stabbed him.)

Accused: Haan to. (Yes.)

Lack of Remorse and Advice to ‘Go Underground’

In the conversation, the friend questions the motive and criticizes the accused for overreacting. However, the accused shows no remorse, replying, “Whatever happened has happened.” His friend advises him to delete the chat and stay hidden for a while.

Protests Erupt at School

On Wednesday, furious parents, locals, and members of the Sindhi community stormed the school campus, accusing the administration of negligence. They vandalized school property and clashed with staff and police. Law enforcement eventually managed to disperse the crowd, who then staged a sit-in, blocking traffic and demanding accountability.

Following the incident an FIR was registered, and the minor has been detained under the Juvenile Justice Act. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities examining digital evidence and CCTV footage to build the case.
