Agra Horror: Class 1 Student Falls Through Cracked Bus Floor, Crushed by Rear Wheels

The CSR Journal Magazine

A nine-year-old Class 1 student from Agra has died in a tragic accident involving a school bus. The incident, which occurred on Wednesday afternoon, has sent shockwaves through the local community. Reports indicate that the accident took place around 3 pm when the bus was transporting students back to their homes in the Etmadpur police station area.

The victim, identified as Naina, was a resident of Nagla Lale village. While the bus was navigating a speed breaker on Naya Bans Bihari Pur Road, a sudden jolt caused a section of the bus floor, which was already damaged, to give way. Naina lost her balance and fell through the opening onto the road below.

Before the driver could react and stop the vehicle, the rear wheels of the bus ran over Naina. Passengers in the bus, alarmed by the incident, alerted the driver, who then halted the vehicle. However, witnesses stated that the driver fled the scene shortly after the accident.

Naina was quickly taken to a nearby private hospital in critical condition but was pronounced dead upon arrival. The news has left her family and the residents of Nagla Lale village devastated. Family members of the deceased have expressed their concerns about the conditions of the bus, alleging that it was not fit for transporting children. They claimed that some students were forced to sit on wooden planks due to a lack of proper seating arrangements.

Authorities have seized the bus involved in the incident and have sent Naina’s body for a post-mortem examination. Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Aditya Singh described the accident as profoundly tragic and confirmed that a thorough investigation is ongoing. He mentioned that stringent action would be taken against those responsible, including potential charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder.

This incident has raised pressing questions regarding the safety standards of school transportation for children in Uttar Pradesh. Parents and community members are calling for immediate reforms to ensure the welfare and safety of students traveling on school buses.
