The Adani Group plans to invest $100 billion by 2035 to build green powered, AI ready data centres, positioning India as a major hub for artificial intelligence and cloud computing infrastructure.

The initiative aims to create what the conglomerate describes as India’s sovereign AI backbone, enabling large scale computing capacity powered by renewable energy while supporting the country’s growing digital economy.

Investment Expected To Unlock $250 Billion Ecosystem

According to company estimates, the direct investment could trigger an additional $150 billion in related sectors over the next decade. These include server manufacturing, electrical infrastructure, semiconductor supply chains and sovereign cloud platforms.

Together, the expansion could help create an AI infrastructure ecosystem worth about $250 billion in India. Following the announcement, shares of Adani Enterprises Ltd rose by up to 2.4 percent in early trading.

Group chairman Gautam Adani said the world is entering an Intelligence Revolution that will reshape economies, adding that nations capable of aligning energy supply with computing power will dominate the future.

Data Centre Capacity To Expand To 5 GW

The roadmap builds on AdaniConnex’s existing national data centre network of about 2 gigawatts, with plans to scale capacity to 5 gigawatts in the coming years.

The company is also pursuing partnerships with global technology giants. These include collaboration with Google for a gigawatt scale AI data centre campus in Visakhapatnam, as well as projects with Microsoft across facilities in Noida, Hyderabad and Pune.

By combining renewable energy generation with large scale computing infrastructure, the Adani Group aims to position India at the centre of the global AI economy while strengthening domestic technological sovereignty.
