Adani Vidya Mandir empowering underprivileged students

Meera is a bright young girl from a small village in Gujarat. Quality education was a distant dream for Meera because of her family’s acute financial constraints. But when she was selected to join Adani Vidya Mandir (AVM), her world changed for the better. She flourished in an environment that nurtured her talents and ignited her passion for learning.
Today, Meera is pursuing a degree in engineering, a testament to the opportunities and support provided by AVM.
Similarly, Ravi belongs to a fishing community in Krishnapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Before joining AVM, Ravi’s future seemed bleak, limited to the traditional occupation of his family. However, AVM’s holistic education system, which emphasised critical thinking and life skills, allowed Ravi to dream big. He excelled in his studies and was encouraged to pursue his keen interest in science. Now, Ravi is a scholarship recipient at a prestigious university, studying marine biology and aspiring to bring sustainable fishing practices to his impoverished community.
These heartening life-altering stories show how AVM schools are bringing about transformation — one child at a time. By giving free, good education, these schools are not just lifting children out of poverty. These institutions are on a noble path of making future leaders and thinkers. The benefits spread good cheer to the students’ families and communities, reflecting the cherished goal of Adani Foundation of empowering communities.
Ensuring no child misses out on good education due to lack of money, AVMs offer underprivileged children the opportunity to realise their potential and can look forward to a rosy future. AVMs have emerged as a beacon of hope, values and community transformation.
Equipped with modern classrooms, science and computer labs, libraries and sporting facilities, these institutions aim for all-round growth and development of both body and mind. The use of technology, including Generative AI, and rigorous teachers’ training demonstrate the Foundation’s commitment to a progressive and inclusive learning environment.
Each AVM is strategically located to serve disadvantaged communities. For the tribal population in Chhattisgarh’s Surguja, rural learners in Ahmedabad, and children of fishing communities in Gujarat’s Bhadreshwar and Krishnapatnam, these schools are a vital resource. They cater to students from families with low annual incomes, focusing on those who might not otherwise get access to good education.
Currently, AVMs are a ray of hope for over 3,500 underprivileged students across the country.
