PNB MetLife celebrated the Joy of Giving week from 3rd October to 18th October, by conducting voluntary activities led by employees, to support young girls and women for education, health and hygiene and livelihood. Over 450 PNB MetLife employees took part in this week-long initiative from across Gurugram and Mumbai.

As a part of this initiative, the Company organized Book Donation Drive to promote girl child education; Donation of Cotton garments for recycling the same into sanitary pads; and Organizing of stalls at office premises to support the livelihood of underprivileged women and thereby promoting women empowerment.

The storybooks, general interest books, geometry boxes and stationery collected were distributed to young girls from the age-group of 5-15 years across schools in Mumbai, with help of Nanhi Kali, the NGO partner of PNB MetLife to support girl child education. Goonj, the NGO partner to spread awareness on health and hygiene, will collect the cotton garments and recycle the same into sanitary pads. The stalls, which were put up in the office premises, showcased the handmade goods made by the beneficiaries of Sakhi Swavlamban – a livelihood program supported by PNB MetLife for underprivileged women, in association with its NGO partner – Drishtee.

PNB MetLife’s CSR initiative – Damini, has been creating positive impact on society through its initiative under Girl Child Education, Awareness on Health and Hygiene and Women Empowerment through livelihood programs. Nipun Kaushal, Chief Marketing Officer, PNB MetLife, said, “The Joy of Giving Week has helped us amplify our Damini initiative by giving a platform to all the PNB MetLife employees to partake in the noble cause. We will continue our endeavour of helping build a more sustainable society.”
