On April 10, 2025, he took to Truth Social to vent his frustrations about individuals such as Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, and Alex Jones, whom he referred to derogatorily as “NUT JOBS” and “TROUBLEMAKERS.”

In his extensive post, Trump accused these commentators of abandoning him for “cheap publicity” and suggested they may be supportive of Iran’s nuclear ambitions. He revisited past conflicts with Megyn Kelly, recalling her perceived aggressive questioning during his 2016 presidential campaign. Trump also made personal jabs at Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens, linking them to recent controversies.

He further stated that Alex Jones deserved financial ruin due to his legal battles stemming from the Sandy Hook shooting case. Trump’s comments underscored his belief that these media figures lack intelligence, claiming they represent ideas that are contrary to his vision for America.

Reactions from the Media Figures

Following Trump’s sharp critique, Candace Owens responded directly to his lengthy post with a brief retort, suggesting it might be time for him to “put Grandpa up in a home.” The feud has taken on a personal dimension, as Owens has accused the Trump administration of compromising the legacy of fellow conservative Charlie Kirk in pursuit of a pro-Israel agenda.

Alex Jones also reacted to Trump’s statements, framing the fallout as a struggle for the President’s “soul.” Rather than attacking Trump outright, Jones has opted for a manner of sympathetic commentary, insisting that the President is not behaving in alignment with his true self. He has alleged that Trump is under undue influence from advisors he deems detrimental and named individuals such as Mike Pompeo as part of the problem.

In his broadcast, Jones characterised Trump’s recent military initiatives against Iran as scripted actions orchestrated by deep-state actors aiming to destabilise the MAGA movement from within. This perspective highlights the ongoing tensions between the President and his previously supportive media allies.

Media Coverage and Government Response

Trump’s discontent with media portrayal of the situation in Iran was also evident as he accused various news outlets of disseminating misinformation. Earlier, he asserted that major publications like The New York Times and CNN misrepresented a ten-point plan regarding negotiations with Iran, labelling it as a fabricated narrative meant to undermine those involved in the negotiation process.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also addressed media coverage, reinforcing the administration’s stance. She provided clarity regarding the negotiations, emphasising that the ten-point plan put forth by Iran was unacceptable and promptly discarded by Trump’s team. Leavitt cautioned media representatives against propagating false information regarding the conflict.

She further asserted that the narratives originating from Iran differ significantly from private communications with the US government, urging the media to consider the actual workings of diplomatic negotiations. Leavitt maintained that Trump’s efforts to protect American interests and advance peace should not be underestimated.
