Job Scam in Lucknow Dupes 150 Individuals of Rs 1 Crore

The CSR Journal Magazine

A significant job scam has emerged in Lucknow, resulting in approximately 150 individuals reportedly losing around Rs 1 crore under false employment promises. Victims, hailing from Gorakhpur, Deoria, and Maharajganj, have lodged a formal complaint at the Vikasnagar police station against three individuals allegedly involved in the scheme.

The accused are said to have established fake non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and attracted job seekers by promising employment through a tuberculosis awareness initiative. They purportedly claimed ties with the health department and represented their organisations, named “Bec Foundation” and “Jeevan Path Foundation”, as having legitimate operations.

The fraudulent scheme advertised numerous job vacancies, offering enticing monthly salaries ranging from Rs 31,500 to Rs 90,000. Each aspiring candidate was required to pay between Rs 90,000 and Rs 1.10 lakh as part of the recruitment process. Through this mechanism, they allegedly amassed roughly Rs 1 crore from the victims.

Conducting Fake Recruitment Activities

<h4หลัง>After collecting the fees, the accused reportedly conducted a training session at a hotel located in the Mahanagar area, presenting the participants with counterfeit appointment letters. The candidates were subsequently instructed to initiate fieldwork by forming teams to promote tuberculosis awareness.

However, when the hopeful employees approached various districts to commence their assigned duties, they were informed by health department officials that they had been deceived. Attempts to reach the accused were thwarted, as their phones were allegedly switched off and their office premises in Vikasnagar were found locked.

In response to the unfolding situation, the victims sought assistance from the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP). Following this intervention, a First Information Report (FIR) was filed at the Vikasnagar police station. Among the complainants are various young men and women from Gorakhpur, Deoria, and Maharajganj regions.

Ongoing Investigation and Further Developments

Law enforcement officials have confirmed that an investigation is currently underway to unravel the details surrounding this fraudulent operation. They are expected to take further action based on the evidence collected from the victims and other available information.

The police urge anyone with information regarding the accused or similar scams to come forward and assist in the investigation. This incident has raised concerns about the increasing prevalence of job scams in various regions, particularly in the context of unemployment challenges faced by the youth.

Authorities are working diligently to address the issue, emphasising the importance of verifying the legitimacy of job offers and organisations before making any financial commitments. The police statement concluded with a reassurance that efforts are being made to hold the perpetrators accountable and provide support to the affected individuals.
