For insurance policies, PAN will be essential for initiating any policy, irrespective of the premium amount. Previously, a PAN was required only for policies with annual premiums exceeding 50,000. The threshold for requiring PAN in property transactions has also changed, moving from 10 lakh to 20 lakh.

Additionally, PAN will now be required for cash payments of hotel, restaurant, and event bills exceeding 1 lakh, an increase from the previous limit of 50,000. These updated regulations are intended to bolster financial transparency and decrease tax evasion risks.
