RSBL and JITO – Mumbai open zero-cost, 100-bed isolation centres for COVID-19 patients

In the second COVID-19 wave, Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO) Mumbai Zone – Gowalia Tank and Walkeshwar Chapter along with Babulal Bhansali, MD of Bhansali Engineering Polymers Limited, and Jain Doctor Federation have come to the rescue by starting a COVID-19 Isolation Centre at Janta Nagar Mumbai Public School in Tardeo, Mumbai.

Another 100-bed centre is opened at Hindu Gymkhana, Marine Drive by The Bhinmal Jain Sangh, whose President is Bhanwarlal Kothari, one of the directors of RSBL. Last year, a similar JITO Gowalia Tank and Walkeshwar chapter opened an isolation centre at the Gilder Lane Municipal School where over 1300 patients recovered.

Prithviraj Kothari, a founding member and Chairman of JITO-Mumbai and Managing Director of RiddiSiddhi Bullions Limited (RSBL), is behind the 100-bed isolation centre in Tardeo. It is fully equipped with oxygen, medical equipment and supervised by Dr. Gautam Bhansali and Dr Vikas Oswal.

The isolation facility is best suited for patients with mild to moderate symptoms and is specially created for infected patients who lack space in their homes to isolate themselves. This centre also acts as an interim arrangement for patients who are facing difficulty in procuring a hospital bed. Patient admission is strictly based on pre-registrations only. No walk-in admissions will be allowed unless it is confirmed on phone by the authority concerned.

This second wave of the pandemic outbreak has witnessed people turning into caregivers and helping their fellow residents. This facility is an example of such collective feeling to help and care for the ones in need.

Medicines and nourishing food for patients are provided at zero cost. Bhansali Engineering & Polymers Limited will be bearing all expenses at the facility. “During times of shortage of resources, this is how we can come together and help the ones in need.
