As the country grapples with the impact of the second wave of COVID-19, ibis hotels have joined hands with The Robin Hood Army to extend their support to the community by providing meals to the less privileged.
Through this CSR initiative, ibis aims to deliver over 5000 meals every month across Delhi, Gurgaon, Jaipur, Nashik, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Kolkata, bringing smiles to the less privileged.
The Robin Hood Army is a zero funds, volunteer-based organization that has thousands of young professionals and citizens who have taken to the streets in their free time to fight global hunger – the team collects surplus food from restaurants and distributes it to the less fortunate.
Sylvain Laroche, Director of Operations, ibis and ibis Styles India, said, “These are exceptionally challenging times, but we feel confident that as a community, we can get through this together. As we continue to suffer from the deadly second wave of the pandemic, it is important that we support each other and the community. As a hospitality brand that prioritizes the safety and wellbeing of its guests and employees, we are doing everything we can to support those who need us.”
Ambuj Ahuja, Lead Partnerships, Robin Hood Army says, “We are incredibly excited to partner with ibis in our mission to fight hunger. Since the Inception of Robin Hood Army, hotels and restaurants have been the backbone of this entire ecosystem but the pandemic brought major resistance in operations. In spite of that ibis hotels are contributing cooked meals in 10+ cities with an important ingredient of ‘hope’. This generosity by ibis hotels gives us hope that together we will come out of these tough times stronger.”
The teams at ibis New Delhi Aerocity, ibis Kolkata Rajarhat, ibis Kochi City Centre, ibis Jaipur Civil Lines, ibis Pune Viman Nagar, ibis Navi Mumbai are also doing their bit by distributing nutritious and wholesome meals in packed in biodegradable material to frontline workers, traffic police who are working tirelessly round the clock. A few hotels have also associated with local NGOs to extend support to COVID patients, nursing homes and the needy.
