Brutal Attack in Dubai Claims Lives of Two Telangana Workers, One Injured

An alarming incident in Dubai has left two Indian nationals dead and another injured following a violent assault inside a bakery where the trio were employed. The attack, reportedly carried out by a Pakistani citizen who was shouting religious slogans during the incident, has sparked shock and grief back home in Telangana.

The deceased have been identified as Ashtapu Premsagar, 35, from Nirmal district, and another man named Srinivas from Nizamabad district. A third worker, Sagar, who survived the assault, is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Dubai, according to his wife, Bhavani.

Victim’s Family Expresses Deep Sorrow

Premsagar, who had been working abroad for several years, was fatally attacked with a sword on April 11 at his workplace, Modern Bakery LLC. His uncle, A. Poshetty, confirmed the tragic news and revealed that Premsagar had not returned home in two years. Premsagar had been employed by the bakery for the past five-six years. He last visited his family two years ago,Poshetty told PTI.

Back in his hometown of Soan village, grief hangs heavy over his family, who are yet to be informed of his death. Premsagar leaves behind a wife and two young children. Given the family’s financial hardship, Poshetty has appealed to the government to assist with the repatriation of his body and offer support to the bereaved.

Union Minster G. Kishan Reddy Seeks Immediate Help

Union Ministers have responded to the tragedy with urgency. G. Kishan Reddy, Union Minister for Tourism and Culture, said he had contacted External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar to ensure immediate assistance.

“Deeply shocked by the brutal killing of two Telugu youth from Telangana in Dubai, Ashtapu Premsagar from Nirmal district and Srinivas from Nizamabad district. Spoke to Hon’ble External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar ji on the matter and he has assured full support to the bereaved families. The urgent repatriation of the mortal remains,Reddy stated on X (formerly Twitter).

Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar Expresses Condolence

Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, also expressed his condolences and said the Indian consulate had been directed to speed up formalities with Dubai police.

“Deeply saddened by the tragic killing of Shri Ashtapu Prem Sagar and Shri Srinivas, both workers from Telangana, who were brutally attacked by a Pakistani national at Modern Bakery LLC in Dubai during working hours on 11 April,he wrote on X. He highlighted that coordination was ongoing between MEA officials and their counterparts in Dubai. “We are extending all necessary support for the early repatriation of the victims and stand firmly with their families in this hour of grief,Kumar added.

The Indian government has assured full diplomatic support, and the Ministry of External Affairs is actively involved in efforts to return the mortal remains and pursue justice for the victims.

As the investigation continues in Dubai, families in Telangana are hoping for closure and financial assistance to cope with their devastating loss.
