CSR: Vi Foundation Celebrates Children’s Day with the 2nd Edition of ‘ViR ki Kahaniyaan’

Children are the future of the nation and the citizens of tomorrow. To celebrate children on the occasion of Children’s Day, Vi Foundation, the CSR arm of Vi, organised a special event to release the second edition of ‘ViR ki Kahaniyaan’ book and felecitate children for their academic excellence and extracurricular achievements. The book is a compilation of real life stories of children from the various social impact programmes of Vi Foundation. Additionally, Vi Foundation also unveiled the book ‘Chalo Meri Story Padhe’ which is a collection of stories from communities.
The book ‘ViR ki Kahaniyaan’ and ‘Chalo Meri Story Padhe’ were released by Anurag Maloo, Entrepreneur, Mountaineer, and Global Advocate for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, in the presence of P Balaji, Chief Regulatory & Corporate Affairs Officer, VIL, and Director, Vi Foundation; and Dr. Nilay Ranjan, Head, Vi Foundation.
The book ‘ViR ki Kahaniyaan’ promises to take its readers on the journeys of children from various walks of life who have overcome struggles and followed their dreams. It captures how Vi Foundation has leveraged technology to empower children to excel in their studies and help teachers follow their passion and impart knowledge in creative ways. Addressing the audience at the virtual event, Mukesh Khanna, Actor and Talk Show Host said, “The future of our country depends on the children of today. Each of them has a Shaktimaan hidden within him / herself. We need to strive to nurture and empower our children and unleash their talents so that they can be the decision makers of tomorrow and unlock a brighter future for the nation and the world.”
Speaking at the event, P Balaji, Chief Regulatory & Corporate Affairs Officer, VIL, and Director, Vi Foundation, said, “We at Vi Foundation firmly believe that quality education for every child is crucial to unleash the potential of the next generation and unlock a better future. We have always focused on education as a key area and have developed programmes that leverage technological interventions to improve the quality of education, and most importantly help in reshaping the education sector. Through our transformative initiatives such as Jigyasa, Gurushala, Teachers & Students Scholarship, and Teaches Robotics, we have positively impacted over 16 lakh children across the country. Our endeavor is to continue to expand our programmes to achieve scale thereby improving our children’s future and aid in nation building.”
Anurag Maloo, Entrepreneur, Mountaineer, and Global Advocate for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals,said, “We all have dreams, but what matters is what we are doing to live those dreams. ‘Gurushala’ is a knowledge sharing and exchange platform that digitally enables thousands of teachers and students to upload and access material for students learning & development anywhere and anytime. Additionally, Vi Foundation’s flagship programme ‘Jigyasa’ aims to build capacity of teachers, introduce digital content, training tools and innovative pedagogy to make learning and teaching more enjoyable, and augment existing infrastructure as needed. Vodafone Idea Teachers Scholarship programme provides aid to teachers for e-learning infrastructure such as laptops, online courses, etc.
