Come winter, and travel junkies love to visit Manali in Himachal Pradesh to have fun and frolic on snow-covered mountain slopes. However, this year, travellers won’t be able to relish the snow treat. In a viral video shared by a traveller, there is a difference between what we expect and the reality. In the video, a place which seems to be a snow activity site, has a narrow strip of snow.
In the viral video, the visitor shared how they were directed by a local tour guide to that snow patch for skiing, calling it a ‘scam’, the visitor said it seems that the snow has been brought from elsewhere and created a skiing area here. “It seems there isn’t any snowfall in this area.”
He even pointed out the contradiction, in some areas there is rocky, and ground without snow and a few square metres there are flakes.

The snow scam became a matter of discussion on Instagram, some found this hilarious, some were sarcastic. A lot of emojis surfaced on social media related to this post. Some even questioned if travelers are willingly becoming a part of the scam. One Insta user wrote, “Isse jayda barf to mere fridge me he.” Another wrote “Green screen bhi lagai hai bhai… baaki ki snow edit mein add krlena.” “They should also put a green screen and add the remaining snow while editing.”
One user wrote, “Brother, I really feel very ashamed just by looking at it.” “We refused to do any activity when we saw the condition and took a full refund.”
Best time for snowfall and winter sports
If you are planning to visit Manali to see snowfall then January and February are suitable times, December won’t be a suitable time. There are a few places that offers more snowfall than other places

Solang Valley which is at a higher altitude than Manali receives comparatively more snowfall than other parts
