In Prayagraj, a red alert issued by the Meteorological Department has led to the closure of all schools for students from pre-primary up to Class 8. Continuous rain has prompted local authorities to take precautionary measures to protect young learners.

Similar measures have been noted in Kanpur, where schools catering to students until Class 12 will also be closed on the same day due to the severe weather conditions affecting the region.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has actively engaged with senior officials to ensure effective relief and rescue operations in light of the ongoing heavy rainfall throughout the state. He has acknowledged the adverse impacts on both life and property resulting from the weather and has instructed his team to closely monitor affected areas.

The Chief Minister has ordered that all available assistance be provided to families impacted by the rainfall. He has emphasised the need for a swift assessment of damages, directing that compensation for losses caused by the weather and lightning strikes should be processed within 24 hours.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister has urged the public to exercise caution, advising individuals to refrain from unnecessary outings during storms and heavy rain. He has also warned against swimming in rivers and other water bodies during these conditions, encouraging residents to remain vigilant.

In Ayodhya, the district authority has declared a holiday for all schools, from nursery to intermediate levels, in light of heavy rainfall forecasts. The order was issued following a directive from the District Magistrate, indicating a systematic approach to safeguard students in the region.

All relevant authorities in Ayodhya have been instructed to ensure compliance with this order. The proactive measure reflects an overarching strategy to protect schoolchildren amid the persistent adverse weather conditions.
